Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 cup sugar.

- Gradually add 3/4 cup heavy cream, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet or use a biscuit cutter. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While shortcakes bake, combine sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl. Let sit for 30 minutes.
- Whip 1 cup heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Split each shortcake in half. Spoon strawberries over the bottom half, top with whipped cream, and place the other half on top. Serve immediately.
