Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- ΒΌ cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until they are bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the beef broth, brown sugar, oyster sauce (if using), and the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly.
- Return the beef to the wok and stir to combine with the broccoli and sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and everything is heated through. Stir in the sesame oil.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.

- Adjust the sauce to your liking β more or less sweet, salty, or spicy.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute beef with tofu or mushrooms.
- Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.

- Serve over cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
- Honey or maple syrup can be used as alternatives to brown sugar.
