Quick and easy Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe ready in under 30 minutes! Enjoy tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory sauce, making it a healthier alternative to takeout. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • ΒΌ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until they are bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
  4. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the beef broth, brown sugar, oyster sauce (if using), and the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  5. Return the beef to the wok and stir to combine with the broccoli and sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and everything is heated through. Stir in the sesame oil.
  6. Serve immediately over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

  • Use high heat for stir-frying to cook ingredients quickly.
  • Don’t overcrowd the wok; cook in batches for proper browning.
  • Prepare all ingredients in advance for a smooth cooking process.
  • Adjust the sauce to your liking – more or less sweet, salty, or spicy.
  • For a vegetarian option, substitute beef with tofu or mushrooms.
  • Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
  • Experiment with other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
  • Serve over cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
  • Honey or maple syrup can be used as alternatives to brown sugar.
